On 1 November 2024, ImagineHealth hosted the Thai-Russian seminar “Medicine in Thailand: Integration of Traditions and Innovations” in Bangkok. The event brought together a delegation of healthcare executives from Moscow with representatives and experts from Thailand's leading clinics and hospitals.

The seminar was part of a benchmarking visit designed to foster knowledge exchange and explore how exemplary practices from Thailand could support the continued development of medical organizations in Moscow.

Rather than presenting Thailand only as a medical-travel destination, the programme examined the systems, clinical approaches and service models behind the country's international healthcare reputation.

Opening a direct institutional dialogue

Mr. Andrei Dmitrichenko, Minister Counsellor and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Thailand, opened the seminar by emphasizing the importance of international collaboration in healthcare.

Mr. Yuri Lyzhin, Trade Representative of the Russian Federation to Thailand, and Mr. Vitaly Kiselev, President of the Thai-Russian Chamber of Commerce, joined as honorary guests and delivered welcome remarks.

Representing the Moscow City Government, Mrs. Irina Petrova, Deputy Head of the Department for Foreign Economic Affairs, also welcomed participants and framed the visit as an opportunity for practical exchange between healthcare organizations in both countries.

Recognizing ImagineHealth's role

During the seminar, Mrs. Petrova presented ImagineHealth Founder and CEO Henning Kalwa with a Letter of Appreciation recognizing his efforts in organizing the benchmarking visit for the Russian delegation.

The letter was personally signed by the Minister of the Moscow City Government and Director of the Department for Foreign Economic Affairs. The recognition reflected the importance of careful local coordination in turning international interest into relevant access, substantive meetings and lasting professional relationships.

Integrating traditions and innovations

The seminar showcased exemplary practices from Thailand's premier clinics and hospitals. Presentations explored how established medical knowledge, traditional approaches and modern clinical innovation can complement one another within a high-quality healthcare system.

Thai specialists shared perspectives on the country's evolving healthcare landscape and demonstrated why Thailand is recognized internationally for combining clinical expertise, advanced technology, hospitality and patient-centred service.

For the Moscow delegation, the programme offered concrete examples that could inform discussion about the future development of medical organizations at home, while giving Thai participants a clearer view of Russian institutional priorities.

From seminar to benchmarking visits

The seminar established the context for a three-day series of visits to leading healthcare providers in Thailand from 4 to 6 November. These visits allowed the delegation to move from presentations into clinical and operational environments and continue discussions directly with hospital leaders and specialist teams.

The programme concluded with a certificate award ceremony and a shared commitment to continue the professional dialogue. ImagineHealth is grateful to the honorary guests, speakers, participants and healthcare organizations whose contributions made the exchange possible.

Building a stronger Thailand-Russia healthcare bridge

This initiative demonstrated the value of combining diplomatic, institutional and healthcare relationships around a practical programme. Meaningful international cooperation depends not simply on introductions, but on understanding each side's priorities and creating the right setting for detailed professional exchange.

For ImagineHealth, the seminar and benchmarking visit marked an important step in developing stronger healthcare connections between Thailand and Russia - and in helping institutions move from general interest toward credible, long-term cooperation.
